How do I care for my purchases?
Most of our garments need to be dry cleaned owing to nature the natural fabrics, multiple layers of hand printing and intricate embroidery. You will find the care instructions for individual garments on the specific product page.
Are my personal details kept private?
Please be assured that your personal information is kept private and confidential and at no point will we rent or sell this. We may use your contact details to inform you of the latest arrivals from your favourite designers and fabulous new services via email. If you would prefer not to receive these updates, you can always un-subscribe from our newsletters.
Can I return or exchange a purchase?
Of course! We offer you a seven day return policy, whereby if you are not happy with your purchase, you can return the same for a full refund.
If you are based in the EU, you are covered by the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (DSRs) and you have the right to cancel your order with us, provided you give us written notice within seven working days of receipt.
Items should be returned new, unused and with all garment tags still attached. In addition, shoes should be returned in their original, undamaged shoe box as this is considered part of the product. We may not accept merchandise which is not received in the above specified conditions. Furthermore, to ensure that your return is adequately protected in transit, we recommend you send your items back to us in the original packaging provided.
The procedure for a return is:
• You must notify customer care in writing of your wish to cancel the contract for your entire order under the DSRs within seven working days of receiving your items. • On receipt of your notice of contract cancellation, customer care will email you about the procedure for effecting a return / exchange, which is generally as below
• You need to return the product to Returns Deparment, Malti Trading Limited, 25 Artemis Court, Homer Drive, London, E14 3UH, United Kingdom.
• We recommend that you insure the return shipment as you are under a duty to take reasonable care of the goods and will be liable for damage to them until we receive them. We also recommend that you use a secure, trackable means to return your order and that you retain proof of sending, in case of a dispute.
• Please note that you must cover the cost of the return shipment.
• We will refund the full value of your order, excluding shipping costs, within 30 days of receiving your notice of contract cancellation. If we do not receive the cancelled order, we can arrange to have it collected from you at your cost.

How do I track my order?
We aim to delivery all orders within 10-12 days of receiving your order. Delivery times may vary depending on stock availability and transportation delays. We keep you informed of any expected delays that might occur in your order.

What is the expected delivery time and cost?
The exclusive styles that we offer are unique and hand-crafted in most cases - this obviously affects delivery times. We use reputed courier companies to complete our deliveries and you will be shown the expected delivery time in days when you place an order. Please note that your order will only be shipped once payment and delivery details have been approved. One of our selected carriers will handle all our deliveries and will require a signature upon receipt.
The delivery times are indicative in nature and might be subject to delays due to stock availability or due to transportation delays. We aim to keep you informed at all times if we anticipate any un-planned for delays in your delivery.
Do I need to sign for my order?
Yes. We want to ensure that your purchases are delivered to the correct address and in good condition – hence we require that all the items we sell are signed for. We are unable to authorise packages to be delivered without a signature.
Is my package insured?
All items are insured against theft and accidental damage whilst in transit to the shipping address. Once your items have been delivered to the specified delivery address and signed for, they are no longer covered by insurance. If your package is damaged upon arrival, we recommend that you either refuse the delivery, or make a note when signing for it that you are accepting a damaged package.
What packaging do you use?
Your order will be delivered to you in our luxury Strand of Silk packaging.
Is it safe to use my credit card?
Yes, absolutely. Security of your personal information is extremely important to us and we use the latest SSL encryption technology to safely transmit your personal and credit card information through our systems. All orders are processed through a secure checkout system provided by Sage Pay.
Do I have to pay additional duties and taxes?
No, our prices include all relevant duties and charges. The prices on the website include customs duties and UK VAT.
Do you ship to post office boxes or freight forwarding addresses?
No. At the current time, we are currently unable to deliver to either post office boxes or forwarding addresses.
Is everything made of silk?
No! The amazing pieces we sell are made of various various materials, including silk. The details of the material from which the garment is made will be specified in the description of the garment.
What if an item I ordered is not available?
The products that we offer are made in limited quantities and while we try to get you what you want all the time, circumstances will sometimes prevent us from getting you the fabulous item that you chose. In such cases, we will send you an email as soon as possible and let you know that the order is not available. Needless to say, you will be provided an option about what to do next - either use the amount to purchase something else from our website or get a refund.
What is the right size for me?
All products are sold by the international sizing scheme used by the respective designers. To convert this to your usual size, simply click on the 'size conversion chart' link which you will find on every product page. If you are unsure about the size, please drop us an email on contact@strandofsilk.com and we will be glad to help you choose the right size.
Are your products authentic?
Yes, most definitely! We work directly with the designers we offer and can unconditionally guarantee that every item we sell is 100% authentic.
